TRY
YOUR HAND...
Hand
prints in rock art form a lasting impression. The hand was a symbolic
figure that dominated Aboriginal rock art. Created by placing a
hand over the rock, red ochre would be blown about the hand pressed
against the rock face. After removing the hand, the silhouette would
remain. Create your own handprint silhouette. Place your hand over
paper or an appropriate surface for a handprint. With assistance
from a partner, use a narrow tube to blow pastel chalk dust from
a flat surface, i.e. cardboard, across your hand. You have your
hand set in stone
or until the next rainfall!
